HPS66 Cornice "Wyatt"
Ornamental Block and Patra Cornice
HPS66 Cornice "Wyatt" is a variation on a modillion block fibrous plaster moulding with an enriched block and patra, bead to the top member and rope running through the wall line. Attention would be drawn to the correct setting out of this ornamentation at mitre junctions.
HPS66 Cornice is a well-proportioned cornice believed to have been designed by the architect James Wyatt, 1746 – 1813, mostly known for his work on Romantic country houses, and was involved with works on Windsor castle, Westminster Abbey and Magdalen College, Oxford. HPS66 Cornice was originally taken from an existing moulding to a large private residence in the Virginia Water area, not far from the location of the signing of the Magna Carta. HPS66 Cornice "Wyatt" is manufactured in 3 metre lengths.
